Abstract :
Magnetite synthesis modificated by gallic acid (Fe
–GA) using
sonochemistry–coprecipitation method assisted by ultrasonic wave with 200 kHz
frequency has been synthesized. Synthesized process has been accomplished in
one step. This study is intended to develop environmental-friendly adsorbent, i.e
magnetite synthesis modificated by gallic acid, as the adsorbent for gold recovery.

Product of synthesized was caracterized using Fourier Transformation
Infra Red (FTIR) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Application of Fe
–GA was
used to adsorp [AuCl

. Influence of pH, term of interaction and adsorption
isotherm on adsorption-reduction process [AuCl
4
]
-
were studied. The gold
adsorbed on Fe
3
O
–GA was confirmed using stereo microscop optic.
The result of the study shows that Fe

optimum at pH 3, and the term to raise the adsorption balance is 15 minutes.
