Abstract :
The research aims to determine the effectiveness of user education for the
new students of scholar program in 2012 at the Library of Faculty of Medicine
UGM Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The
main method of collecting data is questioners, while the secondary methods are
observation, interview, and documentation. Populations taken in this research is
all of the new students of scholar program in 2012 at Faculty of Medicines UGM
Yogyakarta. The basic sample applied uses Yamanne of formula for 86
respondents, and the sampling technique uses accidental sampling technique. The
test instruments was held on 30 the new students of scholar program in 2012 at
Faculty of Medicine UGM Yogyakarta. The instrument testing is done by using
correlation technique of product moment and the reliability instrument by using
formula Cronbach Alpha which is counted using software SPSS for windows
version 16. Analysis used is analysis descriptive quantitative. The result of the
research obtained, can be concluded that the overall result is 4,11, so the category
is the users education for the new student of scholar program in 2012 at the
Library of Faculty of Medicines UGM Yogyakarta ranks effective. In this
research, there are 3 sub-variables with the details of the average value as
cognitive domains of 4,23 ranks very effective, affective domains of 3,94 ranks
effective, and psychomotor domains of 4,07 ranks effective too. Based on the
results obtained, the suggestion for Library of Faculty of Medicine UGM
Yogyakarta is that it should be more focus for affective domain in the
implementation of users’ education, and psychomotor domains, and then
cognitive domains.
