Abstract :
Background:
The quality of nursing services is a professional service, which is an
integral part of health service. The satisfaction of patients with Askeskin can be
measured using quality dimensions, which include the readiness in handling patient’s
complaints (Responsiveness), official’s reli
ability (Reliability), the care to each
individual/ patient (Empathy), sophisticated to
ols (Tangible), and the trust of patients
on the service (Assurance).
Purpose:
This research aims at finding the correlation between nursing service
quality and the satisfaction level of patients
with Askeskin in inpatient rooms of PKU
Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta. This research was conducted from October
2010 to July 2011.
Methodology
: This research is a descriptive correlative research with a cross
sectional design. The sample is chosen with total sampling.
Result:
Based on Kendall Tau statistic test, the value of

= 0.258 with significance
rate of 0.002. The result of statistic test showed the value of
Ï
= 0.002, smaller than
0.05 (0.002 < 0.05) which means that the hypothesis was accepted. This research
result shows that there is a correlation between nursing service quality and the
satisfaction level of patients with Askeskin in inpatient rooms with nursing service in
Arafah and Sakinah wards of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta. For the
head of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta, this research can be an input
for nursing service performance and can be
a reference to determine operational
policies to maintain and improve the nursing
service quality to give satisfaction to
patients.
