Abstract :
Background: The number of maternal mortality (MMR) in Indonesia is still very high among other ASEAN countries. When compared to the AKI in Singapore is 6 / 100,000 live births, Malaysia's maternal mortality rate
reaches 160 / 100,000 live births. Even the mortality rate of Vietnam's mother is the same as Malaysia State, has reached 160 / 100.000 live birth,
Filifina 112 / 100.000 live birth, Brunei 33 / 100.000 per live birth, while in
Indonesia 228 / 100.000 live birth. The coverage of MMR continues to
increase from year to year. Viewed from the coverage of deliveries assisted
by trained health personnel by province in Indonesia in 2013, the three
provinces with the highest coverage in Central Java province with 99.89%
coverage, South Sulawesi 99.78 %, And North Sulawesi 99.59%. While the
three provinces with the lowest coverage are Papua 33.31%, West Papua
(73.20%), and East Nusa Tenggara (74.08%). One effort to reduce maternal
mortality is by giving counseling about premarital pregnancy planning to
prospective brides.
Objective: The purpose of this research is to know the difference of
knowledge level about planning of pregnant woman before and after get
counseling
Research methods: This type of research is a quasy experimental design
from one group of pre-test and post-test design. Sampling technique using
Accidental Sampling, the instrument used in the form of questionnaires with
two variables namely the level of knowledge about pregnancy planning
before and after getting counseling, The analysis used is bivariate.
