ABSTRACT
In this study the present researcher focused on the difficulties
encountered by EFL students in listening skill of the fourth semester of
Hamzanwadi University. The present researcher used descriptive
qualitative as the research design. The data were collected by
using interview, questionnaire, and observation among 20 students of the
fourth semester of English Language Education Department. The
present researcher found there were some problems faced by the
students; those were lack vocabulary, the accent of the speaker, the
unsustainable tools, the noise sound from outside, the noise from the
other students, and the speed of speaker in the recording. To solve the
problems in listening, the students have to practice in listening audio
that is not too hard to understand, and stop the audio for a moment they
don‟t know or can‟t remember the meaning.
