ABSTRACT
This research aimed at analyzing the students‟ vocabulary mastery at the
VIII A of MTS NW Pansor Gunung Sembalun Bumbung, through jumbled letter
game in the academic year 2017-2018. To know the students‟ vocabulary mastery
the researcher took the data by giving questionnaire and test about vocabulary,
and interview some students. The researcher took one class; it was twenty
students. The result of this research showed that the students have low vocabulary
mastery. Besides when the teacher gave explanation, the students‟ tended to talk
each other. During the teaching and learning process the students‟ were busy with
their own activity. Therefore, students should pay attention more to their teacher
when he/she is explaining the lesson. They should memorize more English
vocabulary.
