ABSTRACT
This study aimed at examining the implementation of Board Game on
teaching speaking skill for the students of the second gradesof SMAN 1 Jerowaru.
This research used pre-experimental research with pre-test and post-test design. It
was conducted at the second grades of SMAN 1 Jerowaruin the school year 2019-
2020 with the sample consisted of 21 students selected by using randomly
sampling. The data were collected by using a video test. In descriptive statistic,
the data were analyzed by using paired sample T-test. The mean score of post-test
(80.57) was higher than pre-test (31.05). The result of paired sample T-test
indicated that there was a significant difference in the mean scores between pretest and post-test, t(df=20) = 49.52 at p = 0.00. Based on the finding, it can be
concluded that Board Game was significantly effective in teaching speaking.
