Abstract :
This study aims at analyzing the factors of unsustainable English learning by the
students at FISE Faculty of Hamzanwadi University. The purpose of this study were:
(1) to find out the factors of unsustainable English learning by students’; (2) to know
whether the material though in first semester trigger the students to learn English
continually. This research was a descriptive qualitative research design. The
participants were consisted of 40 students. The instrument of this research used
observation, questionnaire, and interview. The finding reveals that there were some
factors of unsustainable English learning, those were low motivation, student’s
environment, the teaching material not from the basic, lack vocabulary, low in
grammatical rules, low interest in learning and mastering English language. In
addition, the material that they have learn in one semester did not trigger them to
learn English continually. It was because the material not from the basic English
level.
