Abstract :
This research aimed at analyzing the students’ responses toward teaching
writing using comic strips. The participants were ten students consist of three males
and seven females at the tenth grade of SMKI Raudhatul Azhar at East Masbagik in
academic year 2018-2019. This research was carried out using descriptive
qualitative method by employing observation, questionnaire and semistructured
interview to the students for collecting the data. Then, thematic analysis approach
was used to analyze the data. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that
comic strips. first, help students to learn writing more enjoyable. Second, make
students more motivated to write English. Third, improve students’ writing skills.
Fourth, improve students’ vocabulary mastery. Fifth, make students easier to
understand the lesson. Sixth, make students more independently in writing. Seventh,
make students more active for making questions.
