Abstract :
This study aimed at examining the effectiveness of warmer “question answer
technique†in teaching reading comprehension. There were two statements of
problem formulated: (1) Is warmer “question answer technique†effective in teaching
reading comprehension at eleventh graders of SMA Darul Mahmudien NW Montong
Gamang in the year 2017-2018? (2) How is warmer “question answer techniqueâ€
effective in teaching reading comprehension at eleventh graders of SMA Darul
Mahmudien NW Montong Gamang in the school year 2017-2018?. The design of
this research was a pre-experimental. The population of the research was 46 students
and the sample was taken from one class. The instrument of this research was a
multiple choice test. The results of pre-test and post-test were used to determine the
mean score and standard deviation score. In analyzing the data, SPSS 22 for
windows was used to analyze whether the alternative hypothesis was accepted or
rejected. Based on the result of the data analysis, the mean score of pre-test was and
the mean score of the post-test was . It means that there was a difference in the mean
scores between the pre-test and post-test. In testing hypothesis, the researcher found
that the value significant alternative hypothesis was accepted. The researcher
concludes that warmer “question answer technique†is effective.
