This study aimed at knowing the effectiveness of demonstrating technique in
teaching speaking at Biology class. The present researcher used a pre-experimental
design. The present researcher used an oral test in the form of a questioning and
answering. It was given to 23 students of biology class. The present researcher
calculated the mean score and standard deviation, normality, homogeneity, and testing
hypothesis. The result of the data analysis indicated that the mean score of pre- test was
40.00 and the post-test was 63.48. In normality testing the present researcher used
Shapiro-Wilk, total score of pre-test was 0.60 and post test was 0.170. The result of
homogeneity testing was .65. In this case, present researcher used One-Way Annova to
look for the homogeneity testing. In testing hypothesis the present researcher used
Paired Sample t-test and total score 5.25 at p = 0.00. So null hypothesis was rejected and
alternative hypothesis was accepted. Based on the data above, it can be concluded that
Demonstrating Technique significantly effective in teaching speaking at Biology class.
