Abstract :
This research aimed at investigated the effectiveness of whole brain
teaching (WBT) method for the eightth graders at SMP IT NW Assamadi Tanak
Maik in the school year 2017-2018. The design of this research was a preexperimental research with pre-test and post-test design. The sample was one
class consisted of 31 students. The instrument was an objective test in form of
multiple choices. The present researcher used descriptive statistics and paired
sample t testto know whether the alternative hypothesis was accepted or not.
Based on the data gained, the present researcher found that the mean score of
post-test (74.06) was higher than score of pre-test (55.87), meaning that there
was a significant difference in the mean scores between pre-test and post-test,
t(df=30)=19.29 at p <.01, that was lower than .05. It implies that the alternative
hypothesis was accepted. It can be described that whole brain teaching (WBT)
method was significantly effective in teaching students’ vocabulary for the
eighth graders students at SMP IT NW Assamadi Tanak Maik in the school year
2017-2018.
