Abstract :
The aims of this study were to identify the kinds of error in writing
narrative text and to identify the factors of the EFL learners‟ errors in writing
narrative text. This research used a descriptive qualitative research. The present
researcher used a writing test in the form of narrative text, questionaire, and
interview as guide the instruments in collecting the data. Those were given to 34
EFL learners of Hamzanwadi University. The results of the data analysis, showed
that 4 students made omission error, 3 students made addition error, 1 student
made miss-information error and 7 students made mis-ordering error. thus, the
total number of errors made by the students was 15. Furthermore, the present
researcher found the factors of the students‟ errors in writing narrative
text that were lack vocabulary and grammar, It can be concluded that the students
didn‟t really apply their knowledge which mean that they did not put
control over grammar.
