Abstract :
This research aimed to know The effectiveness of cartoon movie to teach
writing of narrative text for the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 2 Masbagik in the school
year 2018-2019. The problems formulated in this study were (1) Is Cartoon movie
effective to teach writing of narrative text in the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 2
Masbagik in the school year 2018-2019? (2) How is the effectiveness of cartoon
movie to teach writing of narrative text for the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 2 Masbagik
in the school year 2018-2019? This research was a pre-experimental design. To
collect the data using pre-test and post-test. The population was the tentth grade of
SMAN 2 Masbagik consisted of 2 classes of IPA as the sample there were 20 students
of IPA-
1. In calculating the data present researcher used SPSS 22. Based on the result, the
mean score of pre-test was 30.80 and the post-test was 40.80. After submitting the
data to a paired samples t-test, the t test was t (df=18) = 7.804 at p = .000 which lower
than 0.01, it mean that the null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was
accepted. Cartoon movie was significantly effective in writing narrative text for the
tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Masbagik in the school year 2018-2019.
