Abstract :
This study aimed at determining the effectiveness of the Make a Match
Model in teaching Reading comprehension for the Tenth Grade IPA Birrul
Walidain NW Rensing in the school Year 2017-2018. The purposes of the research
were 1) To know whether make a Match Method is effective in teaching reading
comprehension for the Tenth Grade IPA Birrul Walidain NW Rensing in the
school year 2017-2018. 2) To know how is the effective of Make a Match Method
in teaching reading comprehension for the Tenth Grade IPA Birrul Walidain NW
Rensing in the school year 2017-2018. This research was a pre-experimental
research. The population was 42 students and sample was 18 students. The
instrument used in this research was multiple choice with 20 items. The present
researcher analysis data was used SPSS 22 for windows. The result of the research
was the mean score of pre-test was (9.94) and the mean score of post-test was
(15.56). After analysis the data use SPSS, the researcher found that there was a
significant difference between the mean score before and after test, t (df = 17) =
28.012 at p = 0.000. Keywords: Make a match model, reading comprehension.
