Abstract :
This study aimed at examining the effectiveness of Circle Game of Numbering
in Teaching Speaking for the students of the second semester of Institut Agama Islam
Hamzanwadi Pancor. This research used pre-experimental research with pre-test and
post-test design. It was conducted at the second semester of Institut Agama Islam
Hamzanwadi Pancor in the academic year 2017-2018. The sample consisted of 30
students selected by using cluster random sampling. The data was collected using a
speaking test. In descriptive statistics, the data was analyzed by using a paired sample
t-test. The mean score of post-test (59.73) was higher than that of pre-test (36.40).
The result of the paired sample t-test indicated that there was a significant difference
in the mean scores between pre-test and post-test, t(df=29) = 53.96 at p = 0.00. Based on
the finding, it can be concluded that Circle Game of Numbering was significantly
effective in teaching speaking.
