Abstract :
This research aimed at knowing the students’ difficulties in writing recount text for
the tenth grade of MA NW Kabar and to analyze the factors experienced by them.
The collected data were submitted to descriptive analysis. The result of the study
discovered that there were 7 students who experienced the difficulties in writing
recount text. The finding of the study implied that students’ difficulties were lack of
vocabulary, errors in structure and grammatical and the factors of students’
difficulties in writing recount text were; (1) students’ lack of interest in learning more
outside of school hour, (2) students’ assume that English is the most difficult subject
to learn, (3) teacher rarely provide motivation and there is no appreciation from
teacher against students’ writing product.
