THE GREETING SYSTEM OF SASAK LANGUAGE BASED ON THE
DEGREE OF AGES AND SOCIAL CLASSES IN THE SOUTH KELAYU
VILLAGE SELONG SUBDISTRICT LOMBOK TIMUR REGENCY

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to know Greeting System and Greeting
System factor used by Sout kelayu Village Community. Further According to
Kridalaksana (in Ekawati 2004: 62) Greetings System is a system that binds
elements of language that mark the difference in status and role of participants in
communication with the language. This research used descriptive qualitative
analysis. The resulting data in the form of words and sentences related to the
Greeting System at Sout Kelayu Village Community. Descriptive qualitative
research method was chosen because the authors identify and describe the
problems relating to the Greeting System to the Sout Kelayu Village Community.
The data were collected by observation technique, recording technique, interview
technique, recording technique, documentation technique. While the technique of
data analysis in this research is recording technique, interview technique, and
technique of note, then copy into data card and analyze it, so that will get relevant
data. The results obtained from research form Greetings System Based on the age
level in Sout Kelayu Village there are sixteen data that is as follows: Greetings
brother, emeqreri, Weq, Nek, Mek, Lok, Nte, Bi, Tek, Meton, Mek, Adek ,Gelos,
Ndeng, Ambek. Whereas in Social Class there are as many data that can be
collected among others: Greetings to the working class of Wayah, Emeq.
Greetings to the merchant class: mother, Bibik, Inek. Greetings for the class of
employees namely: Father, sir, teacher and the last greeting to the title of religion
that is: Tuan, Hajjah, Ustad. Based on the results of the discussion concluded that
the changes that occur in the community can be said to progress especially in the
Greeting System speak, both from the age level and social class. In addition, there
are factors that can affect the different Greeting System in Sout Kelayu Village
Urban Communities such as kinship, age, gender, relationship of intimacy and
social status.
