Abstract :
The of this research was to know the students’ ability by using Ejaan Yang
Disempurnakan (EYD) in writing descriptive text for the seventh grade of SMAN
٦ Kopang in the academic year ٢٠١٧/٢٠١٨. The design of this research was use
descriptive quantitative research. The technique of this research were use
observation and test. The test likes assessment of the students’ working ability
who had be done in analyzing students in doing something. The data analyzing of
this research was use the simple descriptive quantitative. The students’ ability in
seventh grade of SMPN Ù¦ Kopang was use spelling who must be corrected in
writing descriptive text in medium category. From ٢٥ students who get the lowest
values was ٦ students, while ١٩ students get the values was pass KKM. Then, from ١٩ students who get the values passing KKM, there were ٦ students get the
highest values was ٧٣,٣ – ٧٩,٩ and ١٣ students get the medium values was < ٧٣,٣
- ٦٦,٧. From ٦ students was get the lowest values < ٦٦,٧ – ٦٠,١. ٤ students was
get standard KKM and Ù¢ students was get less than KKM. Based on that things, the ability to do spelling who corrected (EYD) in writing descriptive text in
medium category. Acquiring in medium category resulted from the totals of
student getting medium values more than lowest category. Thus, from the data, it
can be take the conclusion that in using EYD in writing descriptive text could be
improving and giving the effectiveness more for the seventh grade of SMPN Ù¦
Kopang. Because, the students never get the lesson of EYD in writing descriptive
