Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Think Pair
Share (TPS) method on students' critical thinking ability in Biology subject
of class VIII SMPN 2 Janapria Lesson Year 2016/2017. The type of this
research is Quasi Experimental research with Post-test Only Control
Desigen design. The population in this study covers all students of class
VIII SMPN 2 Janapria which amounts to 42 students spread in 2 classes.
Determination of sample using random sampling that is random retrieval
technique so that got class VIIIA as experiment class and class VIIIB as
control class. Instrument in this research in the form of test of critical
thinking ability of student in the form of description test. Data analysis
techniques use t-test (t test). Based on the result of hypothesis test data
analysis using statistical analysis with t-test formula at 5% significance level
is obtained t-count as big as 6.697. After comparison with t-table (2,021),
then t-count (6,697)> t-table (2.021) so that the conclusion in this research is
there influence of Think Pair Share (TPS) method to students' critical
thinking skill in Biology class VIII SMPN 2 Janapria Lesson Year
2017/2018.
