KOMPARASI MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) TIPE
PROBING-PROMPTING DENGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN
PROBLEM SOLVING DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN
PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to compare the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of
Probing-prompting type with the Problem Solving leraning model in terms of the
mathematical problem solving ability of the ninth graders of MTs NW Senyiur in
the academic year 2019/2020 on the subject metter of power and root form. This
type of study was experimental research. The objects of this research were the
ninth graders of MTs NW Senyiur.the instruments used were test and non-test
instruments. Instruments tess in the form of essay test and multiple choice test.
While the non-test instrument was ini the form of an observation sheet of student
learning activities. The results of this study proved the proposes hypotheses
namely; (1) FA > Ftable = H0A was rejected; (2) FB > Ftable = H0B was rejected; (3)
FAB > Ftable = H0AB was rejected. Also based on the results of the PBL class
Probing-Prompting type test the average student for the essay test was 69,67 and
the multiple choice test was 71,92. Whereas the average Problem Solving class of
student for the essay test was 66,67 and the multiple choice test was 72.
