Abstract :
The objective of this study was to find out whether Scattergories game is
effective towards students’ vocabulary knowledge and to find out the extent of
the effectiveness of using Scatergories game towards students’ vocabulary
knowledge at the eighth grade of MTs Sa Darussalam Al KubroMoyotin
Academic year 2020/2021. The population of this study was the eighth grade of
MTs Sa Darussalam Al KubroMoyot. The total sample of this study was 20
students selected through random sampling technique. The classes were formed
into one classes; an experimental. The method used is a quantitative method
which adopted a pre-experimental design. The instrument used is vocabulary test
which consisted of pre-test and post-test. Moreover, the findings of this study
revealed that the average score of post-test in the experimental class.the average
score of pre-test and post-test in the experimental class (54,20<75,70). Thus, it
proved that Scattergories game was effective at a moderate level towards
students’ vocabulary knowledge at the eighth grade of MTsSa Darussalam Al
Kubro in academic year 2020-2021.
