Abstract :
The objectives of the current study can be formulated as follows: (1) To find out the
effectiveness of a priority material procedure in teaching speaking at an uncharted area in
pandemic era, (2) To identify how far the effectiveness of a priority material procedure in
teaching speaking at an uncharted area in pandemic era. The sample of this study was 8
children of a class at an uncharted area in pandemic era. Designed as pre-experimental
research, the techniques of collecting data were pre-test and post-test. Oral test using
picture was the instrument used to collect the data. The final result of descrictive statistic
revealed that a priority material procedure was effective, based on the children
achievement of post-test (63.6250) was higer than the mean score of pre-test (34.5000).
After analyzing the data to a paired samples t-test, it was found that there was a positive
and significant difference in the mean scores between the pre-test and the post-test,
t(df=7)=17.291 at p=.0.05; it meant that the null hypothesis was rejected and alternative
hypothesis was accepted. Thus, this material procedure was significantly effective in
teaching speaking for the children in pandemic era.
Key Word: a priority material procedure, telling time, speaking ability
