Abstract :
This quantitative research was aimed to analyzing of students’ errors in
constructing question tag at the fourth semester of English language education
study program of Hamzanwadi University. The population of this research is the
fourth grade students which consist of four classes. The sample was taken with
random sampling, so the present researcher chooses all classes which consist of
20 students. The present researcher was a descriptive quantitative. The test in
the form of multiple choice and essay was used to collect the data. The test was
analyzed using SPSS 22 windows to find the mean score. Based on the
classification of a group index, the students’ errors in constructing question tags
are 2 students were categorized into excellent, 13 students were categorized into
good, 0 students were categorized into average, and 5 students were categorized
into poor. The present researcher concludes that the ability of the fourth
semester of English Department of Hamzanwadi University in constructing
question tag is good.
