Abstract :
In this study, the present research was concluded a descriptive study on
analyzing students’ difficulties in writing recount text. The purpose of study
were (1) to analyze of students’ difficulties in writing recount text; (2) to
know the problem of the students’ in writing recount text. The present
researcher used a descriptive qualitative design. To answer the research
question, the present researcher used two research instruments. Those were a
test and questionnaire. It was applied to 20 students’ of the third semester at
Hamzanwadi University. The research of data analysis indicated that teaching
writing in recount text was done qualitatively. The result of study were; (1)
analysis students’ writing test, it was classified students’ writing and provided
the analysis of each student’s writing compositions. (2) analysis students’
questionnaire. It was consist of twenty questions. The researcher described
the causes of students’ had difficulty in writing recount text were had
difficulty to identify the type of text and structure of recount text and
organized of grammatical structure. The researcher discussed about provided
an assessment of the student problems in writing recount text. Mostly
students’ faced problem was in language features in recount text which
contains of grammatical structure and vocabulary.
