Abstract :
The aim of this study is to describe the obstruction factors of students? listening skill on the language program grade XI at SMA Negeri 1 Jatilawang in Academic year 2020/2021 and also intended to give some contributions concerning the dominant obstruction factor of students? listening skill of English. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The writer choses 18 students of Language Program in the academic year 2020/2021 as the sample subject that is 11th grade. The data is analyzed through several steps that is data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The inhibiting factor are found out from the result of observation, questionnaire, and interview. The result of this study finds that there are quality of recorded materials, length and speed of listening, psychological factor, experience factor, environmental factor, linguistic factor (vocabulary, pronunciation, accent), and lack of concentration.. The dominant obstruction factor are vocabulary and length and speed of listening. From the result above, the writer concluded that the students still have many obstruction factor in English listening skill.
