Abstract :
This study is carried out to describe the inhibiting factors on the student?s English speaking skill by the English Education Study Program Students of Peradaban University and also intended to give some contributions concerning the dominant inhibiting factor on the students? speaking of English. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The writer choses 18 students of English Education Study Program in the academic year 2016/2017 as the sample subject that is 2nd, 4th, and 6th semester. The data is analyzed through several steps that is data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The inhibiting factors types are classified based on Milles and Huberman. The inhibiting factors are found out from the result of observation, questionnaire and interview. The result of this study finds that there are lack of motivation, lack of confidence, vocabulary, grammar and environment experienced by the students of English Education Study Program. The dominant inhibiting factor is the students? ware lack of vocabulary and lack of confidence. From the result above, the writer concluded that the students still have many inhibitions factor in speaking English skill.
