Abstract :
The aim of this study is describing the types of nominal groups pattern produced by the story. In doing this study the writer employs descriptive qualitative method. Meanwhile, the data of this study were taken from ?The Legend of Trunojoyo and Kleting Kuning retold by Slamet Riyanto? published by Pustaka Pelajar in 2008. The writer used Nominal Groups theory to identify the functional components of nominal groups whether they are Thing, Deictic, Post Deictic, Numerative, Epithet, Classifier, and Qualifier. The result shows that the writer found 105 nominal groups in the story. As a result, they had some similar analysis. Finally, the writer only analysed 72 nominal groups. Based on the result of analysis, there are 18 patterns produced by the story. They are E+T+Q in 1 number, D+T+Q in 9 numbers, D+E+T+Q in 1 number, D+E+E+T in 1 number, D+T in 30 numbers, D+D+T in 5 numbers, T in 6 numbers, D in 1 number, D+D+T+Q in 2 numbers, T+Q in 2 numbers, T+D+C+T in 1 number, D+E+T+D+T in 1 number, D+E+T in 3 numbers, D+PD+T in 3 numbers, D+C+T+Q in 1 number, D+Q in 1 number, D+C+T in 2 numbers, and D+N+T in 2 numbers. All in all, the highest number of nominal groups produced by the story is D+T in 30 numbers.
