Abstract :
The fear of missing out on social media fatigue refers to the concern that online content and other people?s interactions using the marketplace application look much more fun and profitable. FoMO can be a problem because it causes anxiety, sleep disturbances, lack of concentration, and so on. Although FoMO is most often used in the context of social media, it can also be related to shopping on online marketplaces. There are many principles that can be applied to influence consumers to use. This study aims to determine the effect of FoMO on Social Media Fatigue, FoMO on Anxiety, Social Media Fatigue on Anxiety, and Anxiety on Intention to Purchase. This study when viewed from the analysis method requires a survey, where the certain location of this research is in the city of Surabaya. The population of this research respondents are marketplace apps Shopee user. The sample that used in this study was 177 respondents taken using purposive sampling method and data collection through questionnaires which were then processed using WrapPLS 8.0. The result showed that FoMO has a positive significant effect on social media fatigue, FoMO has a positive significant effect on consumer anxiety, social media fatigue has a positive significant effect on consumer anxiety, and consumer anxiety has a negative significant effect on the intention to purchase
