Abstract :
This study aims to analyze and determine the effect of political connections and GCG (Good Corporate Governance) on the profitability of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. The populations in this study are all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020 with 175 companies. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 53 companies with 265 observational data. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and t test. The results showed that political connections had a significant positive effect on profitability, GCG proxied by independent commissioners had no significant effect on profitability and institutional ownership had a significant effect on company profitability.
