Abstract :
A building is a physical form resulting from construction work that is integrated with its location, whether partly or wholly above land and/or water. Buildings generally function as a place for people to carry out their activities. Building maintenance is a very important activity to maintain the value of building assets, in addition to providing a conducive environment. To be able to carry out building maintenance activities, it is necessary to examine the current condition of the building. This research aims to determine the value of the overall condition of the building. In the process, this research used the Condition Survey Protocol 1 (CSP 1) matrix method based on visual inspection to assess one of the former prison buildings in Bengkalis. After data analysis, 32 damages were found, of which 10 damages were carried out by planned maintenance and 14 damages required condition monitoring, and 8 of these damages needed serious attention. It can be concluded that the overall condition of the former prison building received a score of 7.91, which means the building is in the fair category, meaning the damage to the building does not affect the stability of the building.
