Abstract :
The government has developed a system to assess bridge damage and review damage handling strategies, known as the Bridge Management System (BMS). This system relies on accurate data that reflects field conditions to ensure that bridge damage handling can be planned and executed effectively and efficiently. The Sungai Manggis Bridge in Lubuk Gaung, Siak Kecil, Riau Province, is an example of a bridge that requires periodic monitoring and condition assessment. This assessment is essential to ensure that the bridge continues to function properly and safely for all users. Using the BMS method, the condition of the bridge is analyzed, and appropriate handling is determined based on the analysis results. This study aims to visually analyze the condition of the Sungai Manggis Bridge and determine appropriate handling based on the condition values analyzed using the BMS method. Based on the analysis results, several key conclusions were obtained. First, several bridge elements require handling due to damage. Second, the condition assessment of bridge elements using the BMS method shows that several critical elements, such as the river flow, frame, and expansion joints, have a condition rating of 3, indicating structural damage that requires immediate action. Meanwhile, the bridge head and deck system elements have a condition rating of 2, meaning these elements require regular monitoring and maintenance. Third, overall, the Sungai Manggis Bridge has a condition rating of 3, indicating that the bridge has structural damage and requires immediate repair actions.
