Abstract :
This research discusses the design and implementation of an intrusion detection system (IDS) using snort and WhatsApp as notification media on computer networks. Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is a system that functions to identify and detect attacks carried out by unauthorized parties on a network. The design and implementation of this IDS uses Snort which functions as intrusion detection. However, some existing IDS systems have shortcomings in providing notifications to administrators if an attack occurs, therefore using WhatsApp as a notification medium will help administrators monitor network attacks. The research results show that IDS using Snort can identify and detect attacks and WhatsApp as a notification medium.
