Abstract :
The problems discussed in this research are related to optimizing coal loading and unloading activities at the Teluk Bayur port of PT Adhi Guna Putera, Padang branch. The main objective of this research is to determine coal loading and unloading activities at Teluk Bayur Port, as well as identifying the obstacles found and solutions that can be implemented during the loading and unloading activity process. The method used is descriptive qualitative which involves observation, interviews and documentation in order to obtain accurate and real data. The research results show that natural factors such as rainy weather or storms cause coal to stick to the upper port when it is loaded onto trucks and equipment damage can hamper loading and unloading activities, because it takes quite a long time to repair. Furthermore, optimizing coal loading and unloading activities at Teluk Bayur port consists of natural factors, by carrying out regular inspections at the station and paying attention to the natural atmosphere and routinely checking and maintaining coal loading and unloading equipment.
