Abstract :
One way to increase the tensile strength of concrete is by adding fibers to the concrete mix so that cracks that may occur due to tensile stress in the tensile concrete area can be held back by additional fibers, so that the tensile strength of fiber concrete can be higher. So the basic idea of adding fiber is to process steel fibers from used tires to add to the concrete mix. So that in this study researchers are interested in knowing the value of normal concrete tensile strength with steel fiber used tires using JMF SNI 7656:2012. This study aims to determine the tensile strength of normal concrete (f'c 25 MPa) with the addition of used tire steel fibers with percentages of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%. The specimens were treated for 7, 14, 21, and 28 days and then tested to obtain the tensile strength of concrete. In the tensile strength test of this concrete, it was found that the average tensile strength of used tire steel fiber concrete increased at a fiber content of 0.5% for 28 days of 2.30 MPa, 1% for 28 days of 2.75 MPa and 1 ,5% at the age of 21 days of 2.12 MPa from the weight of the cement used.
