Abstract :
Micro hydro power plants
(PLTMH
) are small scale power plants. Usually
this plant is built in a place where there is no electricity network, but this plant
usually requires enough water to be used as a source of lighting. Before the
PLTMH was planned, a study of the potential for spaciousness was needed to
determine the feasibility of the water source. By creating a prototype of a micro
hydro power plant using magnets by utilizing river currents
(magnet case studies
)
using cylinders. The advantage of this cylinder is that it can go up vertically due
to the optimal flow of the river flow. The initial stage of this design is by
collecting river speed velocity data in Bengkalis Regency, making a prototype
generator according to the design that has been made. Based on the results of the
prototype design test MHP uses a magnet, getting a voltage value of V =
0.057volt. At an average sea current velocity of 0,5 m / s, currents at various
times often vary, so that the movement of the cylindrical union of the time will
also vary. The greater the speed of the river flow, the greater the speed of the
cylinder to oscillate, and the greater the voltage obtained.
