Abstract :
Kwh-meter is a tool used by the PLN to measure and calculate the amount
of electricity consumed by customers (electricity consumers). This tool is very
common in the community. The main part of a kwh meter is a voltage coil, a
current coil, an aluminum dish, a fixed magnet whose job is to neutralize the
aluminum disk from magnetic field induction and the mechanical gear that
records the amount of rotation of the aluminum dish. This tool works using a
magnetic field induction method where the magnetic field moves the counter digit
as a display of the amount of kwh.
In this study some analysis will be carried out in the form of the amount of
energy used on several loads such as three lights with each power of 11 watts, 23
watts and 45 watts, as well as one iron with 320 watts of power and a fan with 72
power watt. From the load will be calculated by simulating the amount of
electrical energy in the form of pulses that are simulated into the arduino mega
2560 program equivalent to the pulse value in the market.
