Abstract :
The final thesis entitled "engineering design and analysis of simple power
plants using biogas fuel" was carried out for six months carried out in the
bengkalis polytechnic majoring in electrical engineering, electrical engineering
study program, this final thesis is focused on renewable energy power generation
systems which are energy from nature and can be renewed and will never end. If
the energy is well managed and used as a power plant, the energy can take place
continuously. One of the advantages of renewable energy is that it can reduce the
use of scarce energy such as petroleum and so on.
Biogas which is a renewable energy can be used as an alternative fuel to
replace fossil fuels such as kerosene and natural gas. Lately, news has spread that
the source of raw material for oil has begun to diminish, so energy reserves are
needed in lieu of the fuel. One of the utilization of agricultural waste to produce
biogas, this can reduce the consumption of commercial energy sources such as
kerosene as well as the use of firewood and usually the material that is more often
used for biogas production is animal waste such as cattle. Biogas produced from
the fermentation process of cow dung produces methane gas which will turn on
fire to boil water. Furthermore, boiled water will produce steam.
The vapor will pass through the pipe where the vapor pressure will be set
using pulp. Then the pulp will be opened little by little so that the vapor pressure
becomes high so that the vapor will blow and rotate the blades connected to the
generator. A rotating generator will produce electrical energy. The electrical
energy generated from the generator is what will be burdened, in this case the load is an LE
