Abstract :
A quality product is obtained from good cutting conditions.The deviation often
caused by the cutting pattern is the synthesizing and vibration of the process,
therefore in the researcher, tested the influence of Rake Angle and Depht of Cut
on the synthesis of medium carbon workpiece (Mild Steel) and vibration in
conventional lathe machining process. The machining process is carried out
with variations of Depht of Cut and also varying the Rake Angle by spindle
rotation (n) constant from medium carbon steel objects having a diameter of 30
mm with a length of ± 170 mm and lathe over ± 100 mm using an HSS chisel.
After the object is latched, then measured using a digital dial indicator. The
results of this research showed that, in Rake Angle = 150, Depht of Cut = 0.75
mm the value of synthesis = 0,015 mm with vibration value = 10,1 m / s2

Angle = 200, Dept of Cut = 0,25 mm value Its syntax = 0,009 mm with vibration
value = 3,1 m / s2
, Rake Angle = 250, Depht of Cut = 0,75 mm value = 0,011
mm with vibration value = 12,7 m / s2

vibrations have a great influence on the level of synthesis. It is also in the use of
the size of Rake Angle and Depht of Cut effect on the level of
workpiececylindrical and reduce the level of geometric accuracy of the product,
and also cause the workpiece to be not cylindrical.
