Abstract :
Conventional machining on lathe one of the influential elements is that the chisel should be harder than the workpiece. To get hardness value on chisel made from leaf spring FKK PS100 car then heat treatment by using cooler media. In addition to obtaining the result of lathe having an optimum surface roughness value is also influenced by the main cut angle (Kr) on the chisel. The result of heat treatment temperature of 9500 C which was held for 60 minutes with water cooler medium, obtained hardness value 62.16 HRC. While the main cut of Cr with the parameters of velocity cutting machine (Vc) = 33.9 m / min, feeding rate (Vf) = 30 mm / min, feeding depth (a) = 1 mm with surface roughness (Ra) 2,176 ?m .
