Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to know the result of casting influenced by several
variations of coolant, physical and mechanical properties of cast aluminum piston
waste and brake shoe. The research method is done by casting process by sand
casting method and data analysis. Results Rockwell hardness values have value
The foundry microstructure in this study has a smooth equiaxial grain shape.
Aluminum casting results have an average hardness of 84 HRC brake shoe and
piston with an average of 2.6 HRC. Rockwell hardness values mixed between
breake shoe and piston by using oil cooling medium has an average value of
60.43 HRC. The maximum voltage of 96.43 which is higher than that of the brake
shoe is affected by the piston element and the water cooling medium having PH
6.4 which does not contain much porosity. While the highest strain value on oil
pendinggin media has a value of 21% because it is not affected porosity at the
time of pouring liquid phase solid. From the impact test results the highest impact
value is by using oil Cooler with a value of 19.12 joules
