Abstract :
Friction Welding (Friction Welding) technology is one of the new welding
process where the production cost is low and the connection produced is good
quality. By combining heat and pressure two pieces of metal will be connected. In
this study will analyze the mechanical properties of the welding results with 826
rpm lathe, 1358 rpm, and 2135 rpm. The results showed there are differences in
hardness of three variations of chuck rotation. At 826 rpm there was a significant
decrease in the welding area compared to other rpm forward of 60 HRc, but at
1,358 rpm and 2135 rpm with the value of 71 HRc and 74 HRc on the weld area.
The larger the given cycle will cause the process of fusing the two materials faster
and also Make the value of violence increases. The stress and tension values on
the tensile test of 112.45 (N / mm2
) at a speed of 2135 rpm. From this result it can
be seen that the highest voltage is at 2135 rpm there is a speed of 826 rpm.
