Abstract :
The food industry is growing in all parts of Indonesia, the increasing need for food is one of the causes of the increase in the number of industries, especially for the fulfillment of chicken animal products. The rapid growth of the chicken farming industry has resulted in a relatively large amount of chicken manure waste. Chicken manure waste can have a negative impact on the environment if the waste processing and handling of the cage environment is not good. The purpose of this study was to determine fly density, factors affecting fly density, and management of chicken manure at the Salam Village Chicken Farm, Patuk District, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta in 2021. This type of research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional approach to data collection methods referring to in Permenkes No. 50 of 2017. The object of research is seven chicken coops in Salam Village. The results of this study were the highest average density of flies and the highest average humidity in the middle of the chicken manure. Based on the correlation test, there is a relationship between humidity and fly density in the Salam Village Chicken Farm. The Salam Village Chicken Farm has poor management of chicken manure waste. The recommendation from this study is that chicken farm managers carry out fly control at the location of the cage. Keywords: Flies Density, Humidity, Chicken Farm
