Abstract :
Covid-19 is one of the health problems experienced by almost all countries including
Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that COVID-19 is a public health
emergency that affects all aspects of people's lives. Based on data as of June 19, 2021, the number
of accumulated Covid-19 sufferers in Central Java was 628,038 people and 13.7% of them came
from the city of Semarang. Of the 37 health centers in the Semarang City area, there are three
health centers that treat the most Covid-19 sufferers, namely Tlogosari Wetan Health Center,
Kedungmundu Health Center and Tlogosari Kulon Health Center. The impact of Covid-19 affects
everyone, including health workers.
This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the effect of a) HR management
practices on performance; b) motivation towards performance; c) HR management practices
against work stress; d) motivation to work stress; e) work stress on performance; f) HR
management practices on performance with work stress as a moderating variable; g) motivation
on performance with work stress as a moderating variable. This research is a quantitative research
with a cross sectional survey approach. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The
sample of this study were all health workers who served at Tlogosari Wetan Health Center,
Kedungmundu Health Center and Tlogosari Kulon Health Center.
Data analysis was carried out univariate and multivariate. Univariate analysis is done by
making a frequency distribution on the characteristics of the respondents. Multivariate analysis
was performed using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis with a significance level of 5%.
The results of statistical analysis showed that two of the seven proposed hypotheses had a
p value <0.05 so that the research hypothesis was accepted. Work motivation has a significant
positive effect on employee performance, this means that the better the work motivation, the better
the employee performance. HR management practices have a significant negative effect on work
stress, this means that the better HR management practices, the less likely work stress will occur.
To increase good work motivation, this can be done by providing rewards, creating programs that
can improve employee welfare and establishing good communication between leaders and
employees. Meanwhile, to control stressors, among others, can be done by creating a comfortable
work environment/workplace for employees.
