Abstract :
Thrust Reverser is a component that can help the aircraft reduce the speed
of the aircraft after landing or during rejected take-off (RTO). Therefore
maintenance of the Thrust Reverser must be paid close attention to so that it is
always in airworthy condition. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the
causes of the failure of the components in the CFM56-7 B-737-800 NG thrust
reverser engine system. This research examines several intermediate components
and is analyzed using the Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) method, which
means a method with two different analyses, FMEA (Failure Mode Effects
Analysis) is carried out by identifying potential failures from FMEA testing. After
being analyzed, the results of the FMEA test are obtained, namely the calculation
of the RPN value in the form of the highest value and the component that often
occurs is Blocker Door with an RPN value of 240. These components must be
prioritized in carrying out maintenance because they have a very high risk.
