Abstract :
Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is an airport in the Special Province
of Yogyakarta. Before YIA started operating, Yogyakarta had Adisutjipto Airport
(JOG) as the flight departure airport for Yogkayarta passengers and its
surroundings. The movement of passengers at JOG is much larger than that of
Adisumarmo Airport (SOC) users. By moving flights from JOG airport to YIA
airport, passengers have to choose between two alternative airports, namely SOC
airport or YIA airport. This study aims to determine the criteria and factors that
influence passengers and airport service users in determining the development of YIA
airport, find out how much land transportation access YIA has, and find out the right
strategy for YIA airport managers to realize the vision and mission.
The object of research in this thesis is the development of YIA Airport using
the SWOT method to be more useful than it should be. In the process of preparing the
thesis, there are stages or methods of data collection, namely interviews, filling out
questionnaires, and validation analysis.
Judging from the results of the study, it was concluded that the criteria
influencing passengers in YIA airport development were airport service satisfaction
factors related to the proximity of the airport location, land transportation facilities,
and airport general services, as well as the number of flights and desired flight
options. The perceived land transportation access by the passengers is running
smoothly, and a SWOT analysis strategy needs to be implemented at YIA airport.
