Abstract :
The engine is a very important component for an aircraft, because engine
performance is one of the benchmarks in assessing the flight performance of an
aircraft, the engine is also a benchmark in designing an aircraft. The performance
of an aircraft engine can be measured by the value of specific fuel consumption,
thrust produced, and efficiency, but in practice there are a series of calculations
that are iterated to get the value of these output variables.
In this research, the topic is to design an application called Adisutjipto
Turbine Gas Performance (ATAP) which functions to be able to perform
performance calculations on aircraft engines. The ATAP application is designed on
the basis of Matlab GUI, and uses the main reference by Jack D. Mattingly with the
title "Element of Gas turbine Propulsion" 2005 edition as the basis for the
calculation. The ATAP design process is also assisted by Excel and the results of
the calculation values and plotting will be compared with the calculation results in
the main reference and from the pre-existing application called PARA.
After the design and comparison, the results showed that the accuracy of
the results obtained through plotting between iteration variables and output
variables using ATAP is quite good. The plot produced by ATAP using the same
data, has a good resemblance of the shape of the plot line and also the calculation
value with the plot graph found in the main reference
