Abstract :
PT Dirgantara Indonesia Persero, also known as PTDI is wrongone aerospace company in Asia with core competencies in design andaircraft development, aircraft structure creation, aircraft production, andaircraft services for civil and military from light and medium aircraft. This research was conducted in the manufacturing department, namely in the tooling process. The operator's main job in the tooling process is to make materialtool according to the available technical drawings using a vertical CNC machinemilling 2v & 4v. This work requires precision and precise calculationsbecause if the size exceeds the size specified in the processsheet then the tool becomes a rejected part. Working on a material can be donerequires ± 3.7 working hours, so the operator should ideally work within 8 hourscan complete 2 tools. Meanwhile, the amount of material that arrived exceededoutput and results in a queue. This causes the operatorexperience pressure due to different amounts of input & output, as well as due to capabilitieslimited machines. So the aim of this research is to get valueoperator mental workload and solutions to reduce mental workload onthe operator. In this research, mental workload was measured usingNASA-TLX approach. The NASA-TLX method is a workload measurementsubjective mental which consists of six indicators. Results of researchThis gets the average NASA-TLX score for vertical CNC machine operatorsmilling 2v & 4v is 95.92 and falls into the heavy category. As for indicatorswhat dominates are Mental Demand MD and Own Performance OP.
