Abstract :
UKM Legondo Bu Suad is engaged in the food processing industry with
the main product being legondo. Legondo is a traditional food originating from
Magelang Regency, Central Java. Wrapped in banana leaves and then tied with
bamboo strips makes Legondo's shape is unique and makes it different from other
foods. Business owners complain that in the production process, in the process of
cutting banana leaves, they still use scissors and this causes the production time
to be quite long. The purpose of this study was to design a banana leaf cutter
according to the wishes of UKM Legondo Bu Suad using the Quality Function
Deployment (QFD) method. The criteria or specifications for the designed tool
are material strength, safe to use, sharpness of the blade, uniformity in cutting,
simple design, ease to use, attractive design, high productivity, and ease of
movement. Based on the results of data processing by constructing the House Of
Quality (HOQ) matrix, 9 technical response attributes were obtained which were
used as the basis for designing the design of banana leaf cutting tool, namely, (1)
Plate iron tool material, (2) There is a part to move the blade, (3) Plate iron blade
material, (4) Blade shape according to the cutting pattern, (5) Tool dimensions,
(6) Operation can be controlled easily, (7) Has an elegant colour concept, (8)
Effective and Efficient, (9) Portable.
