Abstract :
Sunarti Tempe Home Industry SME is one of the tempe-making SMEs in the
Ngawi region. The amount of demand in these SMEs is erratic so that it can make
the amount of inventory that exceeds demand or less than demand. When
inventory is less than demand, it can cause a decrease in the amount of
production due to the absence of raw materials, so that it can result in the
cessation of a production process. Meanwhile, when inventory exceeds demand, it
can cause a decrease in the quality of tempeh due to being stored for a long time,
which can result in tempeh damage. The method used by these SMEs is currently
limited to conventional calculations with historical data without doing a good raw
material planning, avoiding these problems with changing demand in each
period, so a policy is needed by planning and controlling production inventory.
One of the concepts of inventory control, especially raw material inventory is the
MRP system. MRP (Material Requirement Planning) is one of the concepts of
planning the needs of the right goods to be applied in the production process so
that the planning of goods needs can be in accordance with demand (Herjanto,
2008). Calculation of raw material inventory or inventory using the WinQSB
application. Soybean inventory based on the results of MRP calculations with lot
sizing techniques, namely LFL, resulted in a total cost of Rp. 127,547,965.
